Electrical Senior Technician – Oil and Gas x 2

  • Area: Bouri Offshore – located 120 kilometers (75 mi) north of the Libyan coast in the Mediterranean Sea
  • Rotation Schedule: 4 Weeks On/4 Weeks Off – Only working days are paid.
  • Minimum 1 Year appointment period

As an Electrical Senior Technician in the oil and gas sector, your responsibilities typically include:

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Expertise in maintain, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, including switchgears, transformers, motors, and power distribution equipment.

  • Skilled in identifying electrical faults   and conducting root cause analysis (RCA) to
  • resolve issues.
  • Proficient in using test equipment (e.g., multi-meters, oscilloscopes, insulation resistance testers) for diagnostic and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Ability to perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on high, medium, and low voltage systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment such as generators, transformers, switchgear and distribution boards.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults in power systems and ensure all systems are functioning.

Installation and Commissioning:

•      Oversee the installation, commission, and testing of electrical equipment for new and existing projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

•      Supervise and coach junior technicians during the installation, troubleshooting and commissioning process.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure all work adheres to safety regulations, industry standards (IEC, IEEE), and if company-specific health and safety protocols.
  • Understanding of hazardous area classifications and installation techniques for electrical equipment in explosive atmospheres.

Preventative Maintenance:

  • Implement and follow preventative maintenance schedules to increase the longevity of electrical equipment and avoid unplanned outages.
  • Perform routine inspections and test on critical power systems ensuring timely identification of potential issues.

Supervision and Training:

  • Supervise and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance and technical support when necessary.
  • Ensure that team members are properly trained in the latest electrical systems, equipment and maintenance techniques.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, test, maintenance and repairs.
  • Prepare technical reports, failure analysis, and maintenance logs for management review.
  • Document any deviations, modifications, or upgrades to equipment and systems.

Technical Support

  • Provide on-site technical support for electrical systems, advising on system designs and improvements.
  • Client will provide the following:
